​CHERRY has identified an initial 21 exemplary good practices that showcase how culture can drive recovery and sustainable development.  

1. Kainuu Future Fund and AV Support Grants (Finland) 

This initiative supports the development of creative projects in Finland’s Kainuu region by providing financial backing for innovative cultural ventures

2. New Policies for the Development of a Local Audiovisual Supply Chain (Audiovisual Fund FVG, Italy) 

Friuli Venezia Giulia’s Audiovisual Fund promotes a robust local audiovisual industry by offering grants and incentives.

3. Creative Hub of Patras (Greece) 

The renovation of Patras’ old slaughterhouses into a vibrant Creative Hub has transformed a historic site into a dynamic space for local CCIs, fostering collaboration, innovation, and entrepreneurship. 

4. Olympia Festival for Children and Young People (Greece) 

This annual festival engages young audiences with cultural and educational activities, promoting creativity and community involvement while celebrating the region’s cultural heritage. 

5. Digital Park – Museum (Greece)

By integrating digital technologies, this innovative museum offers immersive experiences that make cultural heritage accessible to new audiences, bridging the gap between tradition and modernity. 

6. Enhancing the Historical and Cultural Heritage of a Cross-Border Area (Frontiera Est, Italy) 

The Frontiera Est project enhances cross-border cultural heritage through collaborative initiatives, promoting tourism and cultural exchange in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. 

7. Call for Projects: Supporting Innovation in Traditional SMEs through Cooperation with CCIs (Multiple Regions) 

This initiative encourages partnerships between traditional small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and CCIs, driving innovation and competitiveness through creative collaboration. 

8. EUREKA – Fair for Culture and Creativity (Italy) 

Held in Friuli Venezia Giulia, EUREKA is a celebrated good practice that connects cultural and creative stakeholders, fostering networking and showcasing innovative projects. 

9. A Book Festival that Changed the City of Pordenone (Italy) 

Pordenone’s book festival has revitalized the city by attracting visitors, boosting local businesses, and establishing the area as a hub for literary culture and creativity. 

10. Fabriques de Territoire – Support Third Places for the Vitality of Our Territories (France) 

This French initiative supports “third places” – community-driven cultural spaces that enhance social cohesion, creativity, and local development. 

11. Architecture Map South West Flanders (Belgium) 

This project maps architectural landmarks in South West Flanders, promoting cultural tourism and raising awareness of the region’s built heritage. 

12. Open Call WinVorm (Belgium) 

WinVorm encourages innovative architectural designs through open calls, fostering creativity and sustainable urban development in Flanders. 

13. COSQUER Méditerranée – Replica of a Pre-Historical Submarine Painted Cave (France) 

Using cutting-edge 3D technology, this project recreates a prehistoric painted cave, offering an immersive cultural experience that preserves and promotes ancient heritage. 

14. Citadel of Marseille – Renovation & Transformation of a Military Fort into a Cultural Place (France) 

The transformation of a historic military fort into a vibrant cultural venue in Marseille demonstrates how heritage sites can be repurposed to serve modern creative communities. 

15. MyMachine (Belgium) 

MyMachine connects students, designers, and businesses to co-create innovative products, fostering creativity and entrepreneurship among young people. 

16. Contrei Live (Belgium) 

This cultural initiative brings live performances and artistic events to rural areas, revitalizing communities and promoting cultural accessibility. 

17. Territory Cultural-Based Regeneration: a Call for Projects (Italy)

Funds cultural projects to regenerate urban and rural areas, enhancing local identity. Supports community-driven initiatives for social and economic revitalization.

18. Veneto Region for Quality Cinema (Italy)

Provides financial support for high-quality film production in Veneto. Boosts regional cinema, cultural storytelling, and tourism.

19. Official Recognition of Ecomuseums by Veneto Region (Regional Law 17/2019) (Italy)

Recognizes ecomuseums to preserve cultural and environmental heritage. Empowers communities to promote local identity and heritage management.

20. Hangar K, the Dynamic Co-creation Hub in Kortrijk for Start-ups, Scale-ups & Established Companies (Belgium)

Offers a co-creation space for start-ups and businesses in Kortrijk. Drives innovation and entrepreneurship in the creative industries.

21. UNPROTECTED SMALL RURAL HERITAGE Regional call (France)

Funds preservation of small rural heritage like chapels and mills. Engages communities to boost tourism and cultural identity.
