Project summary
Facing a burgeoning elderly population and a shortage of qualified caregivers, CApABLE aims to emphasis the centrality of social&healthcare sector in European policies. Centered on the EU Care Strategy, CApABLE aims to make social care careers more attractive and to provide workers with the skills needed to deliver high-quality services. The project starts from the acknowledgement of the urgency of the situation: by 2030, an estimated 4.3 million care worker positions will need to be filled across Europe.
CApABLE addresses this challenge through a multifaceted approach:
-Upskilling the Existing Workforce through reskilling and upskilling initiatives, fostering career progression and job satisfaction.
-Attracting New Talent by improving working conditions and promoting the social care sector as a viable career path.
-Enhancing Service Quality with innovative methods and tools to deliver better care for vulnerable individuals.
-Promoting Worker Mobility by fostering harmonization of training and qualification frameworks across Europe.
CApABLE's distinctiveness lies in its collaborative and holistic approach. The project involves a wide range of stakeholders: this ensures the project addresses the specific needs of each region and its workforce. Through the "Exchanges of Experiences" partners will share best practices and reciprocally learn from each other. These knowledge-sharing events will focus on key areas like worker shortages, training pathways, and innovative healthcare services. Partnership has been structured in order to involve only partners with a clear focus and competence on the sectors addressed by the project: PPs are Regional Authorities and Sectoral Agencies that are involved both at policy and operative level. By addressing both the supply and demand sides of the care worker shortage, CApABLE strives to create a more attractive and effective social care sector in Europe to ensure quality care for the continent's growing elderly population.
