The event began with the agenda being presented, outlining the various sessions and activities planned for the event. The first session took place in Derecske, on the premises of the Bold Agro Ltd. and focused on introducing "Good Practice 1 – Derecske Adventure Garden," showcasing an innovative approach to responsible tourism. Through the guidance of the company owner, participants gained insights into the success story of this exemplary project and learned about the best practices it has implemented. Next, the spotlight shifted to the local conditions, good practices, and regional stakeholders of Hajdú-Bihar County. This segment provided valuable information about the region's unique characteristics and ongoing initiatives in the tourism sector, highlighting the various stakeholders driving progress. In light of the ever-evolving global challenges, a comprehensive discussion on current tourism trends ensued started by the presentation of Mr. Csaba Halasi, representing the Association for the Tourism of Debrecen and Hortobágy. Participants explored how the region could adapt to these challenges and leverage emerging opportunities to bolster its tourism sector effectively. The session that followed showcased the largest Spa Complex of Europe – Hungarospa Hajdúszoboszlói Zrt., presenting a prominent attraction in the region by Ms. Enikő Czegle-Pinczés, CEO of Hungarospa Hajdúszoboszlói Zrt. Attendees were introduced to the exceptional features of this spa complex and its significant contribution to the local tourism industry. A recent development called "Meet County Tastes" was unveiled, where the "Brunch event series launched in Hajdú-Bihar" sought to promote local culinary delights and cultural experiences. This initiative aimed to reboot gastrotourism and highlight the region's rich gastronomic heritage. Another exciting prospect for Hajdú-Bihar County came into focus with the introduction of "Hike in Hajdú-Bihar – First steps towards greenway development." The presentation glimpsed at the different ways of nature-based tourism. An essential part of the event was the "Peer review of Good practices with partners," where guided by the Lead Partner, participants had the opportunity to provide feedback and insights on the presented activities in good practice collection and evaluation. The second day started with a trip to Hortobágy, introducing the "Good Practice 2 – Linking natural assets and tradition in Hortobágy." This session shed light on the unique value of Hajdú-Bihar integrating natural assets and cultural traditions to enhance tourism offerings. A crucial project group meeting was held at the seat of Hajdú-Bihar County Government, where partners gathered to discuss ongoing tasks and milestones. The Steering Committee Meeting took place to oversee the progress of the project and align efforts for its successful implementation. A highlight of the second day was the presentation of Holistic Diagnosis, where the Lead Partner provided an in-depth analysis of the approach integrated in the project. This comprehensive assessment lays the foundation for future strategic planning and decision-making. The event was wrapped up with some closing remarks, and participants departed with newfound knowledge and inspiration, ready to contribute to the growth and prosperity of partner regions working together in the SYSTOUR collaboration.
