SIreNERGY engaged in energy community cluster meeting
The Policy Learning Platform hosted an engaging online discussion on April 9, 2024, focusing on the energy community project cluster meeting. This event aimed to highlight the increasing attention from local and regional policymakers towards renewable energy communities and their role in the ongoing energy transition.
Presentations were given by four initiatives within the Interreg Europe energy community projects cluster: ShareRES, LEEWAY, REC4EU, and SIreNERGY. Each initiative provided insights into their consortium, areas of focus, achievements, plans for 2024, areas requiring input, and potential cooperation opportunities.
Discussion points included identifying common areas for collaboration, utilizing collaborative tools to emphasize project needs, and shaping thematic priorities for future events.
The projects featured were:
- LEEWAY (LEading coopEration toWArds energy communities policies tackling energy; poverty) – led by Ferrara Development Agency (SIPRO);
- REC4EU (Renewable Energy Communities for EU regions) – led by Regional Agency for Waste & Resource Management (ARRR) (IT);
- ShareRES (SHAring REnewable eneRgy through Energy communitieS) – led by AGENEX;
- SIreNERGY (Social Innovation in Renewable Energies) - led by Leartibai Foundation (ES).
