Europe continues to experience an increased frequency and magnitude of extreme weather events, significantly impacting urban and catchment areas. These events have resulted in numerous casualties, displacements, and billions of euros in damages across all social and economic sectors, exacerbating regional disparities. This underscores the urgent need to accelerate the transition to long-term climate resilience by enhancing existing policy instruments to address these unprecedented extremes. It is imperative for local, regional, and national governments to collaborate, improving current planning and water management policies to ensure robust resilience under these new conditions. This complex but necessary process involves integrating multilevel and multi-sectoral policies.

RESUREXION contributes to solving these challenges by enhancing multilevel resiliency strategies through interregional cooperation. A strong innovative aspect is that it enhances policies from different levels and sectors which influence water management in urban and catchment areas, with the objective of realizing long-lasting climate resilience against extreme weather events.

The overall objective is to enable a robust climate resilience through enhancing existing policies by multi-level integral exchange, improving their practicability, effectiveness, and efficiency in addressing these new extreme conditions. The overall objective comprises a "practicability and interconnectivity check" and creates a synergetic policy system that empowers urban and catchment areas on their way towards climate induced, extreme weather resilience.

A well represented partnership of consortium consisting of 9 Partners and 3 APAs, across national, regional and local levels, presenting a pre-elaborated joint vision and covering 7 policies, will implement creative exchange methods and achieve strong impact on the local and regional stakeholder networks.
