On September 15, 2023, the Public Institution for the Management of Protected Natural Areas of the Dubrovnik-Neretva County organized a GREENHEALTH Regional Info Day to publicly launch the initiative in Croatia.

The regional info day took place in the park-forest Velika i Mala Petka in Dubrovnik. Here, the participants were introduced to the GREENHEALTH project and the value and importance of the park-forest Velika i Mala Petka from the point of view of biodiversity and health benefits for visitors.

Also, an outdoor workshop was held on the removal of an invasive foreign plant species - sedge (Ailanthus altissima), which is one of the main threats to the biodiversity of the Velika and Mala Petka forest park.

The pilot area of the project – the Velika and Mala Petka Protected Area, is the only park-forest in the narrower city area and is among the last complete green areas in the surrounding of Dubrovnik.

It has a very significant value from landscape, biological, educational, social and health aspects.
