GRANDIS Empathy Design Thinking Workshop - Methodology

The Interreg Europe GRANDIS project is proud to publish the Empathy Design Thinking Workshop Methodology (June 2024), a practical guide designed to support policy makers, stakeholders, and entrepreneurs in addressing gender inequality and the challenges of the green and digital transitions. This methodology draws on insights from our first empathy workshop, where project partners stepped into the shoes of female entrepreneurs navigating the twin transition. The report outlines the participatory structure used during the transnational workshop and provides clear guidance for replicating these sessions at regional level. GRANDIS continues to empower female-led SMEs by encouraging inclusive policy design through empathy-based stakeholder engagement. The methodology is now available for partners and stakeholders preparing regional workshops throughout 2024. Download the full report or contact your regional partner for more information.

GRANDIS Challenge Mapping Stakeholder Workshop - Methodology

The Interreg Europe GRANDIS project is pleased to introduce the Challenge Mapping Workshop methodology, a strategic tool designed to support regional stakeholders in identifying the key barriers faced by women entrepreneurs and female-led SMEs in the context of the green and digital transitions. Following the initial series of Empathy Design Thinking workshops, this next phase invites stakeholders—ranging from policymakers to female entrepreneurs—to engage in structured group discussions. The workshops focus on five key thematic areas: culture and attitudes, working environments, skills, support services, and access to finance. Participants collaboratively define challenge statements that reflect both the lived experiences of women entrepreneurs and the realities of policy development. These Challenge Mapping Workshops were implemented in all GRANDIS partner regions between January and March 2025, contributing to the development of policy recommendations and targeted regional initiatives aimed at supporting inclusive growth. The findings will also inform the broader interregional exchange process, helping to build a more equitable entrepreneurial ecosystem across Europe.

GRANDIS Transnational Desk Analysis

As a key milestone in the early implementation of the Interreg Europe GRANDIS project, the Interregional Desk Analysis Report provides a foundational overview of the current landscape for women in green and digital entrepreneurship across eight European countries. Conducted in 2024 and finalised in December 2024, this desk-based study aimed to explore the existing challenges, policy frameworks, support mechanisms, and good practices relevant to female entrepreneurs and women-led SMEs involved in the twin transition sectors. Each project partner contributed data via a structured template, which was compiled and analysed by EIfI-Tech, the project’s advisory partner. The findings offer an important point of reference for the project’s future actions and inform policy learning and exchange activities planned throughout the three-year initiative.
