Sixth Stakeholder Meeting in Romania on April 14th

On the 14th of April 2025, our regional partner Meteo Romania (National Meteorological Administration of Romania) held the sixth Down to Earth Regional Stakeholder Meeting in Bucharest. The event counted with the presence of representatives of Romania's Agency for Financing Rural Investments (AFIR) and the Regional Centre for Rural Investment Financing 8.
The meeting began with a presentation by Mr. Daniel Alexandru, Down to Earth partner and Meteo Romania representative, who described the vision and mission of the Down to Earth project, outlining also some of the main project activities, such as digital workshops with experts, previous meetings with stakeholders and various study visits, thematic conferences and thematic reports, both regional and general.
Mr. Alexandru also provided an overview of the lessons learned from the project's last study visit to the Slovenian region of Gorenjska. His presentation included details on some of Slovenia's policy instruments related to sustainable rural developemtn, as well as a summary of the thematic conference held in Naklo and the recently published second Thematic Report on Access barriers to young farmers in depopulated areas. There was then time for a discussion on the preparations for the next study visit, which will be organised in Romania.
During the meeting, Mrs. Fănuța Tatiana Fenechiu presented the Regional Centre for Rural Investment Financing 8 and introduced some cases from the counties of Ilfov, Ialomița and Călărași that could be considered good practices for the Down to Earth project. She also gave gave an overview of AFIR's activities and initiatives, highly relevant to the Down to Earth project.
