On January 14th 2025, Down to Earth's lead partner Axencia Galega de Desenvolvemento Rural (AGADER), together with Fundación Juana de Vega (project partner), hosted the 5th Regional Stakeholder Meeting in Galicia.
During the first part of the meeting, the progress of the project was presented to the Galician stakeholders. Afterwards, the second-year final thematic report on Access barriers to young farmers, prepared by the Juana de Vega Foundation and the University of Patras, was presented. The report highlighted the main factors addressed by the proposals for improvement examined in each partner region. Following the presentation, an open discussion was held to allow stakeholders to further reflect on the findings of the thematic report.
The second half of the meeting focused on the Policy instrument’s proposals for improvement. Another open discussion was held for Galician stakeholders to exchange on approaches and suggestions aimed at modifying the tools provided by the policy instrument in order to incorporate the learnings gained by the project so far.
The meeting concluded with details of the forthcoming study visit to the region of Gorenjska (Slovenia), which will include visits to several local initiatives as well as the second-year thematic conference. Interested stakeholders were invited to participate in this visit.
