Gender Equality status in the North-West Region of Romania

On 19 February 2025, the Romanian DEBUTING stakeholders gathered for the 4th regional stakeholder meeting in Cluj-Napoca organised by North-West Regional Development Agency. The meeting provided the perfect occasion to analyse the regional status of gender equality, as well as recent best practices from partner regions, directly encountered by cluster members active in the DEBUTING project.

The study offers a comprehensive analysis of gender equality in the North-West Region, highlighting regional strengths and opportunities while proposing solutions to enhance existing policies, with the ultimate goal of fostering a more equitable and inclusive environment for all citizens.
Good practices identified in partner regions from Poland, the Republic of Moldova and Hungary - following the participation of regional clusters Transilvania IT, C-EDU Education Cluster and Transilvanian Furniture Cluster - were shared an analyzed within the DEBUTING regional stakeholders’ group. Successful gender equality measures and projects, along with effective supportive cluster policies, provided inspiration and valuable insights for future initiatives and strategies.
The implementation and promotion of such good bring significant regional benefits. Increasing their visibility is a highly effective way to highlight the advantages of gender equality in the socio-economic environment and to provide the young population, especially women, with successful examples of entering the entrepreneurial environment. Good practices that support the equitable development of girls' and women’s technical and digital skills also help shape a skilled labor market segment, benefitting companies in emerging fields by expanding the recruitment pool.
