A means for public intervention. It refers to any policy, strategy, or law developed by public authorities and applied on the ground to improve a specific territorial situation. In most cases, financial resources are associated with a policy instrument. However, an instrument can also sometimes refer to a legislative framework with no specific funding. In the context of Interreg Europe, operational programmes for Investment for Growth and Jobs as well as Cooperation Programmes from European Territorial Cooperation are policy instruments. Beyond EU cohesion policy, local, regional, or national public authorities also develop their own policy instruments.
SALKturbo is the forward-looking action plan to sustainably strengthen and accelerate the Limburg economy. The plan is based on four priorities: competitive Limburg - inclusive Limburg - digital Limburg - sustainable Limburg
With a focus on these 4 priorities, we align largely with the programs and direction of higher-level government policies. This allows us to maximize participation in European, federal, and Flemish subsidy programs. To be clear, SALKturbo does not operate with a budget envelope to be distributed. SALKturbo is the strategic plan that sharpens Limburg’s priorities and ambitions.
Through SALKturbo, we aim to guide partners and projects as much as possible towards various subsidy programs. It is important to note that Limburg has been recognized by Europe as a region in transition. This means that initiatives that strengthen our province are eligible for European co-financing. This brings the GTIs into view. With the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) as a structural fund, the European Union aims to reduce disparities between the development levels of regions. Flanders is fully recognized as a program area, but within it, an integrated territorial investment strategy (GTI) is provided for Limburg, resulting in specific calls for GTI Limburg. The SALKturbo plan is an important compass for ERDF projects in Limburg.

The State Sustainability Strategy (LNHS) of Brandenburg provides the framework for Brandenburg's sustainability policy - it is a strategy of the state government. The MLUK is generally responsible for sustainability in the Government of Brandenburg. It drafted the 2014 strategy and played a key role in its revision in 2024 (which was steered by the State Chancellery of Brandenburg). In the sense of an integrated approach, the LHNS emphasises the cooperation of the entire state government within this joint task and follows a two-pillar approach: The societal pillar systematically aligns with the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and defines 5 focus areas with measures. The internal administrative pillar identifies areas where the state administration can contribute and lead by example. These five focus areas are: Natural Foundations, Environment and Nature; Economy, Work and Innovation; Social Justice, Cohesion and Inclusion; Education and Lifelong Learning; Health, Care and Prevention. Each area includes ongoing activities, identified needs for action, and derived measures such as strategies, concepts, or programs. The state government will report every two years on the implementation progress, including advancements in the focus areas and indicators. Overall, the LNHS aims to advance sustainable development in Brandenburg through a holistic approach of societal focus areas and internal administrative measures, supported by monitoring, reporting, and communication.

The strategy for “Enhancement of Territorial Vocations for the Economic Development of the Vlore Region, Vlore 2030” is a long-term strategy designed by the Regional Council of Vlore in order to identify what are the economic potentials for the development of the County of Vlore.
The strategic plan “Vlore 2030” presents and analyses the factors identified as harmoniously connected and structurally functional to the economic development of the Vlora Region. To narrate this vision, a narrative device was devised, represented by two pillars which in the document are described as the "twin trees of the strategic development of the Vlora Region". The two pillars belong to different types, however, they have developed alongside each other. Despite their diversity, with the passage of time they have become closely intertwined. The pillars of the strategic development hypothesized in this report for the Region of Vlora are tourism and agriculture. Each of the two strategic pillars is divided into different branches. The strategic pillar of tourism develops five main branches: (mass) seaside tourism, nautical tourism, cultural tourism and the branch of festivals and major events. The strategic pillar of agriculture also bears several branches. The proximity of the two pillars has meant that in several cases their strategic lines have intertwined so tightly that it is often difficult to separate them from each other.

NRIS3 represent direct support to selected priority areas that have high potential to create a long-term competitive advantage for the Czech Republic (CR) that is based on knowledge exploitation and innovation. Identifying and developing these promising areas, smart specialisation, builds on the strengths of CR and its various self-governing regions. It seeks to make targeted and smart use of the unique combination of opportunities offered by our economic background and R&I capacities. NRIS3 also identifies and addresses weaknesses in the innovation system, which ultimately represent barriers to the development of smart specialisation and the innovation environment as a whole. The purpose of the NRIS3 is to change the weaknesses through relevant innovation instruments. Its main motto is: A resilient economy based on knowledge and innovation.
NRIS3 defines 2 basic levels of priorities - horizontal priorities (HP) and thematic priorities. For our project are relevant HPs, which respond to the need to address the cross-cutting problems of the R&D&I system as a whole. There are defined 4 HPs:
- R&D&I for business
- Public R&D
- People and smart skills
- Digital agenda
The project focus on priority 1 (R&D&I for business) which helps SMEs to apply the aims of sustainability reporting to their business models and to behave more sustainable and responsible. To be prepared on time to their upcoming duties increase SMEs competitiveness and strengthen their position in the market.
