LOCAL ACION: Conference in Połaniec
At a conference at the Centre for Culture and the Arts in Połaniec on 10 January 2025, Wioletta Czarnecka, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture, Climate and the Environment, presented issues related to the supervision of municipal waste management in the context of levels of preparation for reuse and recycling of waste. Entrepreneurs, local government officials and residents of the municipality of Połaniec took part in the conference, which aimed to raise the green competence of the province's residents. The organisation of the conference was aimed at improving awareness and involving residents in carrying out separate collection in households, which is key to achieving the level of preparation for reuse and recycling rates, which is as high as 55% in 2025. From 1 January 2025, every municipality is obliged to collect textile waste separately. The minimum that a municipality will be obliged to provide is the collection of this textile waste at Selective Collection Points for Municipal Waste (PSZOK). This means that everyone will have to separate textile waste from other waste. The event was combined with the sharing of knowledge gained during the exchange of experiences as part of the international project ‘CORE - composting in rural areas’ implemented by the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship. Particular attention was paid to the Belgian example of masters of composers as one of the possibilities to be adapted in other areas.
