Another edition of the International Waste Management Forum MIFOD, co-organized by the Świętokrzyskie Region, is behind us. The conference, which was attended by over 300 representatives of entrepreneurs, scientific and research institutions, lawyers from renowned law firms from Poznań and Wrocław specializing in environmental protection, farmers, public administration and practitioners from the waste management industry from all over the country and abroad, was also attended by Grzegorz Socha - Vice-Marshal of the Świętokrzyskie Region. The forum was held simultaneously with the EKOTECH Fair, thanks to which participants could additionally familiarize themselves with current technological solutions and industry offers.The fair stand of the Marshal's Office of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship also enjoyed great interest, which proves the involvement of visitors in environmental protection and waste management.

Over the course of two days, issues related to innovation and the circular economy (CE) in the context of waste management and resources from the agricultural sector were discussed by a group of recognized experts. Conference participants met to deepen and consolidate their knowledge and establish partnerships and business relations. The information obtained and new contacts will certainly be a source of inspiration for further activities in the area of ​​the circular economy, in order to support the sustainable development of our province and other regions in whole Poland. Much attention was paid to issues related to the circular bioeconomy in the aspect of legal, technological, organizational and financial conditions. The subject of municipal and agricultural biogas plants and biomethane plants was presented by prof. Jacek Dach from the University of Life Sciences in Poznań, who also provided individual consultations to interested parties. Kamil Kot from the Regional Development Agency in Starachowice and Bartosz Wąsikowski from the Wastech Recycling company from Warsaw also shared their experiences in the area of ​​biogas plant operation.

Much attention was also paid to the international project: “CORE – Composting in Rural Environments”. During a dedicated panel, the assumptions of the project, the effects developed and selected good practices were presented, including the Belgian idea of ​​masters of composers.

The speakers also included employees of the Department of Agriculture, Climate and Environment: Izabela Chrzęszczyk and Małgorzata Walczak, who presented the achievements of the Świętokrzyskie Province in the sustainable development of the region and the implementation of solutions based on circular economy. In turn, Ms. Wioletta Czarnecka, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture, Climate and Environment, took part in a panel discussion entitled: "Heat from waste - fuel from waste and biomass as a fuel for energy transformation and the future" during the Congress of Urban Greenery, Water and Air, which also took place during the EKOTECH Fair on April 9. The International Waste Management Forum was organized thanks to the cooperation of the Provincial Government, among others with Targi Kielce S.A., AK NOVA Sp. z o.o. from Poznań, the Circular Economy and Recycling Cluster from Warsaw, IGSMiE of the Polish Academy of Sciences from Kraków, the Foundation for Education and Social Dialogue Pro Civis from Kielce, the Regional Development Agency in Starachowice and VIVE TEXTILE RECYCLING Sp. z o.o. from Warsaw.
