Seminar on Community Participation and Technologies in Jaén

On 13 and 14 May 2025, the Jaén County Council organised a seminar focused on Community Participation and New Technologies. The event was aimed at professionals working with populations at risk of social exclusion, as well as key stakeholders from across the region.
Over two days, the seminar served as a platform for discussion and knowledge exchange on how digital tools and participatory approaches can support social inclusion, civic engagement and improved access to services for vulnerable groups. Attendees included social workers, local government staff, representatives of civil society organisations and specialists in digital transformation.
The programme included presentations, panel discussions and interactive workshops on topics such as digital literacy, inclusive technology and citizen participation in local governance. Several municipalities shared practical examples and case studies, showcasing effective approaches developed through direct work with marginalised communities.
This initiative is part of broader efforts to promote social inclusion through innovation and aligns with the values of cooperation and knowledge sharing encouraged by European projects. The event also highlighted the value of interregional dialogue in addressing common challenges.
The seminar received coverage on the regional news. You can watch the segment here below.
