RWG concludes back-to-back Cherry event in Patras on Nov 26
On November 26, 2024, the Region of Western Greece hosted a back-to-back event titled: Local thematic workshop (Stakeholder meeting n.4) & Pilot action 2 “Developing new narratives and digital services for the CCIs”.
The event was held at the old Slaughterhouse of Patras, which has been repurposed in recent years for cultural & creative events, bringing together CHERRY project partners from the Region of Western Greece (Greece), the Region of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur (France), and the Central Transdanubian Regional Innovation Agency (Hungary), as well as stakeholders from France, Hungary, and Greece.
The back-to-back event focused on how Cultural and Creative Industries (CCIs) can drive urban renewal and enhance competitiveness in the digital age.
Representatives from the Region of Western Greece, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, and the Central Transdanubian Regional Innovation Agency shared their insights on the importance of transregional collaboration in leveraging CCIs for sustainable development.
Participants were introduced to impactful policies and initiatives, including the Creative Hub of Patras, which has played a pivotal role in fostering local creativity and cultural activities.

Expert presentations shed light on the challenges and opportunities CCIs face in the digital era, including emerging trends in digital content technologies, while regional experts introduced tools for enhancing business growth and entrepreneurship within the creative sector.
Interactive sessions brought together digital actors and cultural operators to explore cross-sectoral cooperation. These discussions encouraged participants to identify synergies and develop innovative ideas for future projects.
Informal discussions provided additional opportunities for stakeholders to exchange perspectives, share experiences, and build connections.
Reflections and Outcomes
The event highlighted the transformative potential of CCIs in shaping urban spaces and fostering economic resilience. It also reinforced the importance of digitalization as a tool for growth and competitiveness in the creative sector.
