UNLOCK Study Event in Médio Tejo / Centro (Portugal)

From May 28–30, 2025, partners and stakeholders of the UNLOCK project, led by Hanze University, will gather in Tomar, Abrantes, and Portalegre, Portugal, for the project’s 5th Study Visit. This three-day event focuses on regional policy improvements for developing the green hydrogen economy and enhancing its impact on SMEs.

The study visit will bring together project partners, regional stakeholders, and experts in green hydrogen and energy transition to explore opportunities for sustainable growth in the Médio Tejo region. Key topics include SME integration in hydrogen production and infrastructure, innovation, and job creation in the green economy.

• Day 1 (Tomar):

  • Steering Committee Meeting

  • Policy Improvement session with partner updates and progress discussions

• Day 2 (Abrantes):

  • UNLOCK Seminar as part of the International Conference “Médio Tejo: The Vision of an Emerging European Region”, hosted at the Museu de Arte Contemporânea Charters de Almeida

  • Keynote speakers and panel sessions focused on SME opportunities in green hydrogen

  • Evening Networking Dinner

• Day 3 (Portalegre):

  • Visit to the Polytechnic Institute of Portalegre and VALORIZA Research Centre

  • Peer Review session and network lunch at CIM Médio Tejo headquarters

This study visit offers a unique platform for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and advancing shared goals within the UNLOCK project. It marks another step toward improving regional policy instruments to drive sustainable economic growth, enhance SME competitiveness, and support innovation in green hydrogen across Europe.
