Who is The Moravian-Silesian Region?
The region is a dynamically transforming area with a long industrial tradition, actively focusing on innovation and sustainability. We strategically orient ourselves toward hydrogen technologies as a key element in transforming our energy sector and industry. We proudly implement the "Hydrogen Technology Development Strategy of the Moravian-Silesian Region," which aims to establish a comprehensive hydrogen economy aligned with EU climate goals while maintaining our industrial competitiveness.
Why is your region partner in UNIFHY?
European cooperation is essential for effective policy development. The UNIFHY project provides strategic planning opportunities and direct access to best practices that strengthen policy implementation. We view this partnership as enhancing our region's visibility, demonstrating leadership, and maintaining decarbonization capabilities through knowledge exchange with other EU hydrogen regions.
How does your region contribute to the UNIFHY project?
We actively identify best practices from project partners and develop an action plan to improve our regional hydrogen strategy. Through project activities, we ensure the involvement of experts and MS Hydrogen Cluster members through stakeholder meetings and focus groups addressing specific green hydrogen implementation challenges. Our main effort is an inclusive approach combining technical excellence with public acceptance of the developing hydrogen valley ecosystem in our region.
What do you expect as an outcome of the UNIFHY project?
We expect optimization of policy tools with a five-year sustainability horizon and improvement of our action plan through evidence-based transferable interventions. For the future, a clearly targeted hydrogen strategy action plan with specific implementation measures that activate new investments and create sustainable jobs. We aim to establish our region as a recognized European hydrogen valley with tangible economic benefits for our citizens while fulfilling our climate commitments.
