Partner presentation: AGENEX (ES)
Presentation of Extremadura’s Energy Agency AGENEX
Established in 2001, Extremadura’s Energy Agency (AGENEX) supports the regional public sector in the design and implementation of energy policies for sustainable development.
The agency also collaborates in European initiatives, advancing energy efficiency, renewable energy, and sustainable mobility solutions.
Why is your organisation a partner in UNIFHY?
AGENEX is the lead partner of the UNIFHY project. “Our participation in UNIFHY reflects Extremadura’s strategic goal to become a reference in the development of green hydrogen and biogases. Extremadura aims to position itself at the forefront of these energy alternatives”, says Lidia Calderón, Director of AGENEX.
How does your organisation contribute to the UNIFHY project?
Through UNIFHY, AGENEX seeks to gain valuable insights from other European regions, particularly in hydrogen infrastructure development and related regulatory frameworks. This knowledge will support the region’s efforts to foster the adoption of green hydrogen and biogases, stimulating demand in key sectors like heavy transport and industry, and improving storage and distribution technologies.
AGENEX also promotes collaboration between the project and regional research centres, the University of Extremadura, and innovative companies, thus strengthening Extremadura’s innovation ecosystem while sharing knowledge and experience with the other project partners.
What do you expect as an outcome of the UNIFHY project?
AGENEX expects the UNIFHY project will contribute to shaping the future energy landscape of Extremadura, accelerating the green transition and establishing the region as a key player in sustainable energy solutions.
