Shaping the Future of Talent in Maribor: Second RSG Meeting
On January 29, 2025, the Regional Development Agency for Podravje - Maribor (RDAPM) hosted the second meeting of the Regional Stakeholder Group (RSG) as part of the TALENT4S3 project. This initiative aims to improve talent attraction and retention in the Podravje region and beyond.

The meeting brought together key actors from the Podravje region to discuss talent management challenges and solutions:
- Review of the First Meeting: The session began with a summary of the first stakeholder gathering, setting the stage for continued collaboration.
- Best Practices from Extremadura, Spain: Participants learned about successful talent retention strategies observed during a study visit to Extremadura. These insights helped identify potential solutions for the Podravje region.
- Introduction of Slovenian Best Practices: Regional stakeholders were presented with a selection of previously identified Slovenian best practices in talent retention, offering models that can be adapted in an international context.
- Discussion on Key Challenges and Solutions: The group discussed regional talent-related challenges, including the development focus on specific economic sectors, the mismatch between skills and market needs, and shared ideas for improving career development and business incentives to retain talent.
Next Steps:
On February 12 and 13, 2025, Slovenian best practices will be presented in more detail to the entire project partnership in Maribor. Stakeholders were also informed about upcoming study visits of the RDAPM project team and RSG meetings in 2025, which will further promote knowledge exchange and support the development of regional talent solutions for attraction and retention.
