On June 5th, 2023, operators in the tourism industry of Central Ostrobothnia gathered to discuss the development of tourism in the region. Representatives of Central Ostrobothnia Regional Council, Central Ostrobothnia Tourism Association, Keskipohjalaiset Kylät Ry, Kaustinen Folk Music Institute, development companies and tourism entrepreneurs participated in the discussion.

The meeting discussed the implementation of the tourism strategy of Central Ostrobothnia and ongoing tourism development projects. The SYSTOUR project was presented as a new development project. At the meeting, the good practices of tourism in Central Ostrobothnia were chosen:

1. It was concluded that regular meetings at the provincial level with a wide group of collaborators are necessary. The composition may vary, but the responsibility for organizing the meetings belongs to the Regional Council. The strength of the meetings is especially the broad scope, the group consists of tourism professionals, public and third sector operators.

2. A provincial tourism strategy for the long term is needed. It should identify the region's strengths, as well as the special features that are being developed.

3. The region’s joint tourism certificate and its introduction will be investigated.

4. The aim is to promote intra-provincial and inter-provincial cooperation through the tourism forum.
