A moment of the meeting

On November 5, the city of Mechelen organized its 4th SPOTLOG Regional Stakeholder Group Meeting with over 20 participants, following the publication and signing of the covenant on sustainable urban logistics. Through this, the city committed, together with over 30 logistics companies and interest groups, to achieve zero-emission urban logistics by 2030.

During the meeting, Mechelen shared with all participants an update on SPOTLOG activities and results. Additionally, car manufacturer Volvo was invited to present its range of electric vans and trucks, explaining its stance on the electrification of the logistics fleet: Volvo is ready for the transition!

Following that, the Mechelen-based logistics company Van Dievel shared its experiences testing an electric truck: beyond a great enthusiasm, there are still some barriers to overcome, mainly related to costs and driving range.

This new Regional Stakeholder Meeting was a further step towards a greener and socially responsible urban logistics!
