SKYLA Partners Drive VET Policy Changes for Twin Transition
On December 18, SKYLA partners convened an online meeting to progress their collaborative efforts to improve regional policies supporting the vocational education and training (VET) offer for the twin transition. This meeting was a critical step in the project’s journey, focusing on refining the policy change alert mechanism and advancing the interregional exchange of Good Practices.
The policy change alert mechanism is designed to help partners identify, achieve, and document policy changes while incorporating these into their local frameworks. During the meeting, partners reviewed Step 1 of the mechanism, which involved assessing the feasibility of selected Good Practices. Step 2, the current phase, centers on bilateral and in-person exchanges, enabling partners to collaboratively build policy improvements. Future steps will include refining these improvements (Step 3) and developing a roadmap for implementation (Step 4).
Importance of Bilateral Exchanges
Bilateral exchanges, a cornerstone of interregional learning, are proving invaluable. For instance, Tuscany highlighted the benefits of their collaboration with Lithuanian colleagues, who provided insights that Tuscany plans to adapt to their regional needs. Following this exchange, Tuscany is organizing a meeting with educational representatives to explore practical applications of the learnings.
Partners will continue bilateral exchanges in the coming months, culminating in a public webinar in May 2025. This event will showcase and discuss Good Practices, offering a platform for wider dissemination and feedback.
Additionally, the next in-person partners meeting is scheduled to take place in Vilnius from April 8–10, 2025, marking another opportunity for collaborative growth and shared learning.
