The second meeting of the Regional Stakeholder Group organised by Maramureș County Council took place on 15 December 2023.

This event was held at the premises of the Maramures County Council and gathered some of the most important stakeholders of Maramures County with competences in the topic of migrants and asylum seekers, together with several staff of the project.

Before the 2nd SIRM stakeholders meeting in Maramures, all stakeholders also participated at an event organized by ASSOC Baia Mare for the completion of the “BLUE DOT & LIGHT BLUE DOTS MARAMUREȘ & SATU MARE” project, financed by UNICEF, referring to refugees.

Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, Maramures County Council together with all relevant local stakeholders have been strongly involved in many actions aimed to manage the situation of refugees coming in Maramures, in order to ensure the basic needs and to support their social and economic integration.

The main objectives of the second stakeholder meeting organized on 15-th of December 2023 with 30 participants have been:

- disseminating the good practices from the 2st Transnational Learning Meeting combined with the Study Visits in Sibenik (Croatia) organized by the Croatian Partner

- final stage of signing the Stakeholders Cooperation Agreement by all interested stakeholders and discussion with future interested stakeholders;

- acknowledgement of the conclusions and lessons learned from a parallel project on refugees theme implemented by ASSOC NGO in cooperation with Unicef named Blue Dot

The most important conclusion of the meeting was the availability of the participants to start the elaboration of proposals to improve Maramures’s policy on migrants and refugees within the Strategy of Durable Development of Maramures County.
