This meeting will play a key role in fostering cross-regional collaboration, supporting sustainable development, and strengthening social innovation throughout the European Union.
The SECON project focuses on improving regional policies related to the social economy by facilitating cooperation between stakeholders and showcasing effective models of social enterprises.
The meeting in Cáceres will feature presentations from innovative initiatives, including the worker integration company REMUDARTE, the PLACEAT association for individuals with intellectual disabilities, and ACTYVA, a cooperative promoting sustainable local business models. The agenda also includes expert-led sessions such as a lecture by the University of Extremadura on the social economy’s role in the region and a presentation by AGENEX on the TRANSCOM project, focused on sustainable energy transitions. During the SECON Steering Committee meeting led by the Region of Peloponnese, project partners will review progress, share field research results presented by KMOP, and discuss the next steps to ensure the project continues to align with its objectives of policy enhancement and knowledge exchange.
This event is hosted by the Directorate General for Cooperatives and Social Economy, part of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Sustainable Development of Extremadura. Their leadership reflects the region’s commitment to promoting social economy practices and supporting cooperative enterprises.
