Study visit in Slovenia

The European media project "Talents of EU Regions" has established a strategic cooperation with the Interreg Europe project "RuralYouthFuture", bringing together shared goals in addressing rural depopulation and the loss of young talent across European regions. The collaborative event took place through Study visit in Slovenia of "RuralYouthFuture" and brought together local and international partners from Slovenia, Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Portugal, Spain and Serbia. The central theme was the demographic challenge of “brain drain” — the ongoing migration of young people from rural and less developed areas in search of better opportunities.

Both projects highlight the urgency of reversing these trends by promoting sustainable development, entrepreneurship, and innovation at the regional level. The event enabled the exchange of ideas and best practices with project partners from Bulgaria and Latvia, who showcased effective strategies for tackling demographic decline in their respective countries.

As a result of this cross-border exchange, the partnership between "Talents of EU Regions" and "RuralYouthFuture" is set to be featured in the upcoming documentary series “Talents of EU Regions”, produced by TV Slovenia. One of the 26 planned episodes will spotlight the work and vision of Bistra Hiša and its contribution to strengthening rural communities in Slovenia.

This collaboration demonstrates the power of EU-funded initiatives in building resilient, youth-friendly rural regions and in amplifying success stories across borders.
