Over the last six months, the work and the active contact between the Galician stakeholders and partners have allowed us to outline the best practices of our community, which will be presented during the next study visit to Galicia.

Many were the personalised meetings and contacts held during these months, which were a turning point in terms of analysing the roadmap to achieve the objectives of our policy instrument, based on the improvement of youth policies in rural areas, as well as studying the good practices presented by our Stakeholders.

Stakeholder involvement, their work and joint analysis, both of our good practices and those of our partnership, are providing a great opportunity to formulate lines of work, programmes and actions with a view to achieving policy improvement.

These months allowed us to test the path followed by RuralYouthFuture and to establish the steps to be taken in the last part of the central phase of the project.

In this context, we will be able to present the achievements of our policy instrument during the study visit, that will take place in Galicia in June. Some of them are already remarkable, such as the new actions designed by the Galician government to reduce the digital divide in rural areas, with training programmes and informative activities for unemployed young people, in order to improve their job opportunities.

RuralYouthFuture focuses on six policy instruments at municipal, regional and national level to address the common challenge to respond to the needs of the population of rural areas, which are experiencing a growing population decline. It counts with the participation of different partners from eight European countries: Spain, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Lithuania, Portugal, Estonia, Belgium and Serbia. The project has a funding of 1.9 million euros, under the Interreg Europe Programme, co- financed with FEDER funds.
