Joint peer-review visits

RAW4RES partners are gearing up for a set of joint peer-review visits on the integration of responsible, sustainable, and risk management measures in territorial business growth strategies.
The objective of the activity is to enhance the integration of responsible, sustainable, and risk management measures into territorial business growth strategies in partners’ territories; this will be implemented through a joint peer-review process that will allow partners to exchange knowledge and provide feedback for the improvement of the territorial strategies.
For the purposes of the activity, the partnership will be split in pairs, comprising a partner with more experience in raw material resilience strategies and a partner with less experience, with each partner exchanging visits and assessing the territorial weaknesses and opportunities of their paired partner. In particular, during Semester 4, BSC will be visited by RSE in February '25, BIRDA by TEAM2, and KOZANI by FHN and FUNDECYT in February '25 as well. In Semester 5 BSC will visit FUNDECYT, BIRDA will visit FHN, and KOZANI and RSE will visit TEAM2.
During these visits, the focus will be on assessing the current state of raw materials' exploration, exploitation, and circularity within the host regions, incorporating stakeholder insights pertaining to local needs, risks and opportunities. The results of the peer review process will be incorporated in reports that will encompass recommendations tailored to the specific needs and priorities of each host region.
Furthermore, the reports will identify opportunities for territorial specialisation, focusing on strategic areas, such as the recycling of rare earth elements, lithium-ion batteries, and the electrification of mobility. Highlighting these areas will provide actionable insights, which can guide future investments and initiatives aimed at enhancing regional resilience and sustainability in raw materials management.
Our advisory partner, PROMEA, delivered the guidelines that will navigate partners through this peer review process.
