On Monday, 20th January, the PROXIMITIES project partners and stakeholders travelled to Manresa in the northeast of Spain (virtually!) for a preparatory study visit hosted by our colleagues Manresa City Council. This session, designed as a precursor to the in-person study visit in March, offered a fascinating glimpse into Manresa’s innovative approaches to fostering sustainable and inclusive urban development.

The virtual meeting invited participants to explore Manresa’s peripheral urban context from the comfort of their own desks. The agenda featured an interesting mix of presentations and interactive discussions, providing a comprehensive overview of the city’s strategies. Good practices were presented during the session to give participants a clear idea of what they will experience during the in-person visit to Manresa.

The session concluded with reflections and feedback from participants, highlighting the  value of knowledge-sharing within the PROXIMITIES project. As we look forward to our in-person study visit to Manresa in March, this virtual journey has set the stage for even greater collaboration and learning.

Stay tuned for updates on our upcoming activities and insights from the March study visit!
