South-West Oltenia Regional Development Agency in Romania recently held two important PROXIMITIES events to advance regional stakeholder engagement and internal collaboration.

On March 11, RDA South-West Oltenia hosted its Second Local Stakeholder Meeting, bringing together representatives from key public institutions to strengthen the project's implementation. The event provided an opportunity to present progress made over the past two semesters, including insights from the European Week of Regions and Cities in Brussels which took place in October 2024. Participants explored successful regional projects supporting the development of peripheral urban areas and discussed relevant good practices from both the Oltenia region and across Europe. The meeting concluded with a collaborative discussion on actions, priorities, and measures needed to enhance the effectiveness of the region’s policy instrument.

Just a few days later, on March 14, the team hosted their first intra-organisational public meeting, aimed at raising awareness about the PROXIMITIES project within the agency. This internal session included presentations on the project's objectives, partners, policy focus, and upcoming activities. The team also shared insights from the Kick off Meeting in Reggio Emilia (May 27–30, 2024) and further reflections from their participation in the European Week of Regions and Cities.

These two events mark an important step in building regional momentum around the PROXIMITIES project and ensuring the active involvement of both external stakeholders and internal staff in shaping more accessible, liveable, and connected urban spaces.
