The ORIGINN partnership will meet, for the very first time on-site, in Östersund, Jämtland Härjedalen region (Sweden) on 20-21 June 2023 to have its first partner meeting. While the project kicked-off in March, and the project activities are already ongoing, this will be the first opportunity for project partners to meet in person and exchange experiences around their policy instruments. Partners will use this opportunity to design individual and common roadmaps linked to their participation in the project, specifying their objectives, goals, and expected learnings, so each organisation can start improving its own policies.

The mission to Sweden will also allow for the first in-depth analysis of a region (Jämtland Härjedalen) and study visits in the territory; these will include the Centre for Food Development and the Upper Secondary School for Farming and Forestry Education, as well as the presentation and discussion of the 'Strategy for Food and Foodstuffs', and other relevant policy initiatives in the region, which will serve as a referent to support other partners in their policy improvement process. Additionally, Simone Sasso, policy analyst of the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission will join in Östersund to present the JRC's current initiatives around knowledge and innovation-based rural development in the EU, aiming at establishing synergies with ORIGINN throughout its entire implementation.
