How can regions balance human health, climate, biodiversity and economic wellbeing through policies and governance? Like IPBES Nexus Assessment highlights, intertwined crises are more effectively addressed together!

On May 27 to 28th 2025, the European Green Capital 2021, Lahti, will welcome other One Health Gov project partners to the inaugural meeting in Finland.

Over the next three-four years, we will be developing policies and working together for better, more holistic regional governance. With the budget of 1,580,022 €, six trailblazing European regions from different contexts will be harnessing the power of co-learning and development. Each partner region faces their own specific challenges. Yet, the underlying root causes are shared, with each partner bringing their own strengths and experience to the partnership.

The project kick-off will focus on identifying the current state of knowledge and application of one health in regional governance. Several talks and workshops from both partners as well as external experts like representatives of the Pathfinder Initiative, offer a range of insights to support the regional policies and transformations.

To enable wider discussions, One Health Gov will arrange a public interactive seminar as part of the kick-off event that is open for all interested parties and stakeholders.
