Project AFFIDO

The project aims to strengthen the protection system for Unaccompanied Foreign Minors (MSNA) through pathways that emphasize the "family relationship" as the primary support in the transition to adulthood. The social worker plays a key role, collaborating with professionals to create personalized protection and autonomy pathways. The reference model is the "Famiglie a colori" initiative from the Municipality of Macerata, which integrates educational, linguistic, and citizenship support. This model will be adapted and tested in various regions, including Sicily and Lombardy, and later disseminated nationally.

AFFIDO seeks to enhance family fostering for MSNA by creating personalized autonomy plans involving territorial social services. The main objectives are: 1) Expanding effective interventions, starting with the "Famiglie a colori" model, to strengthen the resources available to social services; 2) Improving the competencies of social services in Marsala, Macerata, Palermo, and Brugherio by using the "Mai soli" model; 3) Experimenting with and improving the effectiveness of the fostering model at the local level; 4) Disseminating successful practices regionally and nationally.
