NACAO presented at International Climate Change Congress
NACAO project was presented at the International Congress on Climate Change that took place on 24 – 25 of October organised by our Andalusian partner!
The International Congress on Climate Change (CLIMA) was a space that brought together
prominent leaders, experts and professionals in the climate change and environment sector from around the world to address the challenges and opportunities linked to climate change in the Andalusian region. The Congress took place over two days, with a full and a half days and with 300 participants.
In addition to presentations and round tables, the event included with an exhibition area, called "Zone 13", where participating entities exhibited posters, panels or products on their initiatives related to climate change.
The NACAO project participated in this Zone 13. The official NACAO video was projected during the full congress, capturing the public's attention. Several members of NACAO’s Andalusian team were attending the stand in several moments to show the visitors, on the one hand the importance of using nature-based solutions in the fight against climate change and on the other hand, the offsetting emissions generated by nature.
The NACAO team also met there the Italian partner who decided to attend the event and the team of the Life Cork project, a project related to the offsetting emissions through the sustainable management of cork forests which has important synergies with NACAO.
The most singular public were the schoolchildren!!! Children from different schools visited the exhibition area and listened to the explanations about the importance of climate change and nature conservation. Digital maps of Andalusia, showing the different typologies of ecosystems in the region and their geographical location, were used during the explanations.
