On May 24th and 25th, the first Interregional event of the MonitorEE project took place in Badajoz, organized by the Consortium Extremadura Energy Agency, the project´s lead partner. This project, funded by the Interreg Europe program, aims to reduce energy consumption in buildings through monitoring systems. It involves representatives from various entities across European regions, including Finland, Spain, Poland, Croatia, France, and Romania.

The event was a joint collaboration with the ShareRES project, which also received funding from the first Interreg Europe call and focuses on energy communities. Over the course of two days, a master class and two technical visits were conducted, facilitating the exchange of knowledge and experiences among the partners.

On the first day, a Master Class and Best Practices Exchange took place at "El Hospital Centro Vivo." Techniques for sharing experiences were analyzed, providing partners with a baseline that will help the implementation of various activities throughout the four-year duration of the projects. The exchange of best practices within the scope of both projects was discussed, with partners presenting implemented examples from their respective regions. This interaction between the two projects allowed for a multi-perspective event where examined best practices helped identify key elements and replicable solutions that could be adapted to other European regions.

The second day of the event focused on two technical visits that generated significant interest among all the partners. The first visit took place in Badajoz and showcased a prototype of a shared self-consumption system with storage developed under the INNOINVEST project. Partners had the opportunity to witness the viability and benefits of this solution, evaluating its potential application in their own regions.

The second technical visit occurred in Cáceres, where partners visited the demonstrators of the EDEA and EDEA RENOV projects. These demonstrators exemplify a methodology for designing and constructing sustainable social housing in Extremadura. Partners gained firsthand knowledge of these best practices and acquired valuable insights that could be applied in their own regions.
