Key strategies for waste prevention and reuse

MINEV participated in a waste prevention webinar on 5 December 2024, hosted by the Interreg Europe Policy Learning Platform. The session focused on the power of reuse, with ACR+ delivering the keynote speech on "Reuse: A Key Driver for Reducing Waste in Europe". Key takeaways from the session included the importance of European policies for reuse, repair, and redesign, setting local goals for reuse and waste reduction, and developing strategies for addressing problematic waste streams like textiles, single-use plastics, WEEE, construction, and food waste.

During the session, various initiatives and best practices were discussed, such as the preparation for reuse system in the Alytus region (Lithuania), the reuse of electronic equipment, and the implementation of reuse models at events (a best practice from MINEV project).
