Peer Review in Saluzzo

The peer review held by UNCEM Piemonte in the territory of Saluzzo Municipality the MILEstone project showed a lot of interest and participation, with the presence of political actors and stakeholders. Project partners and stakeholders from Asco, Groningen, Leizpig and Ungheni met the local stakeholders group (Saluzzo Municipality, Consorzio Monviso Solidale, Cooperativa Armonia, CARITAS) and the political actors (President of UNCEM Piemonte, Major of Saluzzo Municipality).
In the evening of the Monday, the project partners met for a dinner in which the program of the following days has been explained, with some useful tips to better understand the situation of working integration in the area.
On Tuesday 12/11, the President of UNCEM Piemonte and the Major of Saluzzo introduced the situation of working integration in the area and the objectives of the institution in order to address resources and policies to this situation. Introduction on the topic of work integration in the agro-forestry-pastoral sector with the case study of the Municipality of Saluzzo, and its importance in the dynamics of mountain and rural regions, has been presented.
In the afternoon, the group visited the housing accommodation for the agricultural workers and the support system available to them and to the local companies with the intervention of operators who work actively day after day. There was a long exchange of questions and answers between visitors and operators, which led to a fruitful discussion on the topic
The Wednesday was even more full of interactions between the visitors and the local stakeholders! The visit involved CARITAS activities in the morning - such as housing solutions, canteen service and cooking spaces, showers and toilets, bureaucratic activities (documents, post, banking and telephone services), medical assistance. In the afternoon, In the afternoon, two entrepreneurial figures were presented (one from the local agricultural sector, one from the logistics sector of a large supermarket distribution chain), with particular attention to the theme of work integration. During and after the presentation there was great interaction between those present and interest in exchanging knowledge on both sides.
On Thursday, 14/11, an event was organized with peer review team and the stakeholders group.
The visitors highlighted Tops and Tips (highlights of the visit and some suggestions to improve based on what has been seen) through a graphic illustration. They were enthusiastic about the activities carried out in the area and the emphasis on the human side of work integration as well as the entrepreneurial and political one. The stakeholders were happy to receive feedback on their activities so that we can work in this direction for the future.
