Last week, the city of Linköpings hosted a peer review visit through MILEstone (Interreg Europe).

The visiting peer review team, with project partners from Burgenlandkreis (DE), Leibniz Institute for Regional Geography (DE), Groningen (NL) and Jyväskylä (FI), had the opportunity to learn more about Linköpings full time activation policy - Heltidsaktiveringen - and visit teachers and students from the vocational training and language education at Linvux. The peer review team also made visits to Agora, Bilda Gårdshuset, and visited rural integration projects in Valdemarsviks.

During the final presentation on March 6th, around 60 people attended the finale of the visit, where the peer review team shared their experiences divided into “tops” - areas in which Linköping and the other local and regional partners excel - and “tips” - areas with room for improvement.

Overall, the exchange of experiences and the peer review team’s thorough and concrete presentation gave the city of Linköping a lot to discuss and process going forward. The conclusions will be instrumental in the ongoing development of policies, strategies and efforts to improve labour market integration - in collaboration with the target group, stakeholders in the public sector, civil society and local employers.

Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to make this peer review visit into a great success!
