1st Learning Event in Hungary
The Vas County Government Office hosted the 1st international learning event of the MaaSolutions project, implemented within the framework of the Interreg Europe Program, in Szombathely. The event, which was held between March 25-26, 2025, was attended by 35 Hungarian and international transport experts.
On the first day of the 2-day event, participants were able to learn about Hungarian good practices in the areas of micromobility, sustainable urban transport and MaaS (transport as a service). On the first day, the Szombathely Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan was presented at the County Hall in the presentation of Ákos Németh, the climate policy councillor, and then they learned about the circumstances of the creation of the Savaria Utas application operating in the city in the presentation of Balázs Füzesi, the head of realCity ITS Kft. As a further part of the program, the participants visited GYSEV Zrt. in Sopron, where the railway company's micromobility and green transport good practices were presented by Ildikó Gara Némethé, the company's head of service development, sales and marketing.
The second day was dedicated to MaaS business models, where renowned experts shared their experiences and opinions in an interactive workshop. The professional consultation of the Italian, Belgian, German, Romanian, Latvian, Serbian and Hungarian participants was led by staff from the University of the Aegean in Greece and the Vas County Local Government Office.
By participating in the MaaSolutions project, the Vas County Local Government Office contributes to strengthening the MaaS – transport as a service approach, and to promoting cooperation between relevant local actors. As the host of the interregional meeting, it had the opportunity to represent Vas County in the international partnership and to provide a knowledge-sharing forum for Hungarian sustainable transport.
