KARMA - Working Group Online Event

The event is organized within the framework of the Working Group 4: “Governance” and is organised by the KARMA project partner Circular Flanders (BE). The workshop aims to explore effective governance strategies in advancing climate plans and circular economy initiatives.

While plenty of investments are being made in the construction and renovation of school buildings, the usual paths often do not leave enough room for circular ambitions.  The subject is not always easy to explain to clients and users and it is often pushed into a corner because it is 'too expensive' or 'too ambitious'. 

Sofie Borré from Cuypers&Q participated in a research project on this subject in order to give principals and school boards the tools they need to prepare their construction project and to think about their circular ambition level and the steps towards it from the start. During this working group from the interreg project KARMA she will share some insights and tools for policymakers, clients, and school boards to make a transition towards circular (re-)construction. She will illustrate this with some good practices of circular school buildings from Flanders and the Netherlands.
