INSPIRE meets the Horizon Widera CROSS-REIS project in Milan
On the final day of the Horizon Widera project CROSS-REIS event in Milan, the INSPIRE project was showcased as a key ongoing initiative of the Consorzio Poliedra. The presentation provided an in-depth exploration of the project’s vision, objectives, and goals, while also introducing the partnership and the policy instruments that are addressed throughout the four-year duration of the project.
The INSPIRE project, which stands for Innovative and Smarter Policy Instruments for Rural Europe, seeks to transcend traditional sectorial policy frameworks such as ERDF, EAFRD, and ESF and adopt a more holistic approach to rural areas' future. Its primary objective is to leverage the opportunities offered by digitisation and ICT to develop smarter, more innovative solutions for rural communities. The overarching goal is to enhance and integrate territorial policy instruments to improve living conditions and stimulate the growth of innovative enterprises across rural Europe.
The INSPIRE project is carried out in collaboration with a diverse group of partners, including the Local Action Group “South Warmia,” Ballyhoura Development, Zimgale Planning Region, the Hungarian Economic Development Agency Public Benefit Non-profit Ltd, the Institute for Rural Development Research at Goethe University Frankfurt/Main (IfLS), the European Projects Office of the Government of Cantabria, and the Regional Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Government of Cantabria.
As the advisory partner, Poliedra presented the toolbox designed to assist project partners in improving the six policy instruments being addressed smarter and more innovatively. This comprehensive process includes key activities at the local and regional levels, such as Regional Stakeholder Meetings, Study Visits, Interregional Workshops, and the collection of Good Practices.
The exchange of ideas and discussions arising from this presentation provided an opportunity to explore different perspectives and discuss cases beyond the project itself, helping to advance smarter, more inclusive ideas in areas envisioned by the INSPIRE project.
