SE RDA (RO) - 2nd Stakeholder Meeting
“The use of H2 in industry and transport” was the topic addressed by the stakeholders from the SE Region of Romania gathered on 5th of March 2025 in Buzau city which is one of the few municipalities from Romania that adhered to the M100 National Platform - a Mirror Mission of the EU's 100 Smart and Climate Neutral Cities by 2030 Mission, through which cities in Romania are helped in their green transition process.
More than 20 participants, representatives of local public authorities at the level of county, municipalities, cities as well as the local agency in charge of environmental protection, specialists in the field and representatives of HYPERION team attended the event.
During the meeting there were investigated the main territorial weaknesses that hinder the uptake of H2, such as:
- the low number of qualified personnel for the use of H2 technologies;
- the lack of vision at the level of decision makers;
- the lack of common understanding between key actors and the lack of synergistic actions at local, regional, national level;
- insufficient awareness of the advantages of using H2 including from renewable resources.
Good practices from the HYPERION regions are expected to be shared in the following months in order to be used by the decision makers to achieve the Region’s goal in terms of sustainable industrial transition towards innovative solutions based on the use of H2.
