Ostrobothnia - stakeholder meeting

On the 19th of March, in the middle of Vaasa EnergyWeek-  the energy industry networking event of the year, the Regional Council of Ostrobothnia gathered its regional stakeholders for a breakfast seminar on hydrogen uptake in the maritime industry.

In the spirit of inter-regional exchange, Rogaland County Council and Maritime Cleantech took part in the meeting. The regions of Ostrobothnia and Rogaland exchanged concrete examples of how they drive the development of hydrogen solutions, valuable learnings, and critical areas to address next.

With inspiring input from Rogaland, the meeting tackled two key questions:

  1. How to level up R&D through ecosystem cooperation and international projects?
  2. What kind of barriers, such as new regulatory regimes and public acceptance at the local level, need to be overcome?

More than 20 regional stakeholders, representing municipalities, sub-regional business and development companies, and higher-education institutes participated and actively contributed to a forward-looking discussion on both regional and inter-regional collaboration to speed up the development. In this way, the event successfully realized the HYPERION project's ambition of providing a platform for new knowledge, ideas, and international connections.
