Second Stakeholder Meeting in Montegrotto Terme

On 10 March 2025, Montegrotto Terme hosted its second local stakeholder meeting as part of the GreenSPAS project. The session brought together local actors to reflect on recent activities and shape the next steps for a more sustainable thermal future.

• An update on the Geothermal Strategy, the policy tool being developed within GreenSPAS to promote low-carbon, efficient thermal city models.

• A presentation on the study visit to São Pedro do Sul, Portugal — a leading spa town with inspiring geothermal and sustainability projects.

• An exchange of ideas on how Montegrotto’s own energy strategy compares and what lessons can be adapted locally.

✅ Key achievements shared:

• Launch of the district heating project, co-funded by the EU through the PNRR.

• Creation of CER MONTEGROTTO 1, a local Renewable Energy Community that enables citizens and businesses to produce and share clean energy.

This meeting reaffirmed the strong local commitment to a greener, smarter spa town model — with Montegrotto leading by example.
