Second GreenSPAS Meeting in Birštonas: Study Visits & Goals
On January 28th, the GreenSPAS project partners from Lithuania, including the Lithuanian Innovation Centre and Birštonas Municipality, co-hosted the second GreenSPAS stakeholder group meeting in Birštonas.
The meeting focused on evaluating best practices observed during recent study visits to Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France, and Viseu Dão Lafões, Portugal. Birštonas Vice Mayor, Edvardas Citvaras, provided a brief overview of these visits, highlighting key insights. The initiative attracted several new stakeholders, including members of the Municipality, the newly appointed Chief Hospitality Officer of Vytautas Mineral SPA, as well as representatives from the sanatoriums Tulpė and Versmė.
A key segment of the meeting, moderated by Ingrida Krogertė, Project Manager at the Lithuanian Innovation Centre, focused on assessing the applicability of these best practices within the Birštonas SPA ecosystem. Participants identified two particularly relevant initiatives: the development of a locally produced cosmetics line and the establishment of a coordinated post-procedure entertainment agenda for SPA clients.
The second part of the meeting was dedicated to defining key objectives for the upcoming study visit to Baden bei Wien. Discussions emphasized two primary areas of interest: municipal policies aimed at fostering the SPA ecosystem and the utilization of mineral water in therapeutic and wellness applications.
The stakeholder meeting in Birštonas marked a significant step forward for the GreenSPAS project, laying the groundwork for ongoing collaboration and innovation. The active participation and shared expertise of stakeholders will play a crucial role in driving policy changes within Birštonas Municipality and advancing the SPA ecosystem toward a more innovative and sustainable future.
