Green Hydra project exploring synergies with EU projects
The Energy Institute Hrvoje Požar hosted a regional event titled 'HY MEET-UP: Fostering Hydrogen Synergies and Collaboration' in Zagreb on February 19th, 2025. The aim of this event was to exchange experience, address challenges and opportunities, and strengthen connections between project partners from Slovenia and Croatia working on hydrogen-related EU-funded projects.
The Green Hydra project was jointly presented by Mrs. Vesna Kučan Polak (Croatian Hydrocarbon Agency) and Mrs. Tanja Senekovič (Regional development agency for Podravje – Maribor). Other presented projects included HyEfRe (Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE Programme), NACHIP - North Adriatic Clean Hydrogen Investment Platform (I3), H2CE (Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE Programme), Danube Indeet (Interreg Danube Region Programme), GREET CE - Green transition in Central Europe (I3) and S2H2 – an innovation project of the company DOK-ING (partner in the project NACHIP).
After a fruitful discussion, the participants concluded that collaboration is essential to accelerate the energy transition and create long-term solutions for hydrogen production and deployment in the region. Although regulatory frameworks, financing, and technology replication are still significant challenges, the exchange of knowledge and the application of best practices can help develop innovative solutions for decarbonisation.
