Updates on GH2M Project Progress
We are excited to share the latest developments in the GH2M Project as we continue to make significant strides towards achieving our project objectives. Here’s a brief update on recent activities and upcoming events:
Mapping Territories’ Infrastructure Needs for H2 Mobility Planning
Led successfully by SZREDA, this activity involved collecting territorial evidence from all project partners to assess the specific infrastructure needs and common challenges faced across different regions. The final report provides valuable insights into the areas where policy interventions are most needed, thereby enhancing our partners' ability to drive forward H2 infrastructure through their Policy Instruments (PIs). The report will be soon uploaded on the website.
Workshop and Site Visit: Hydrogen Refuelling Station (HRS)
On the 30th of September, a significant milestone was achieved with DRENTHE: our first workshop and site visit. The event focused on understanding the regional model for planning Hydrogen Refuelling Station (HRS) infrastructure, while discussing key aspects such as licensing, economic profitability, and safety requirements. Stay tuned for the summary report, where Drenthe shares more detailed insights from the lessons learnt during the workshop.
Benchmarking Exercise on Green H2 Production and RES Integration
On the 7th of February, RRAPK hosted a very productive online benchmarking exercise, during which partners evaluated and ranked the most effective policy measures for promoting green hydrogen production and integrating renewable energy sources (RES). The next step involves preparing a study analysing these evaluations and providing recommendations for enhancing regional policies. The study will particularly focus on fostering synergies between H2 production, refueling stations, and RES operators, with the aim of improving territorial capacities, financial sustainability, and the resilience of green H2 mobility.

There are plenty more exciting activities on the horizon! Here’s a quick preview:
- KOSICE, REGPEL & STOCKHOLM will explore best practices, territorial market maturity, investment priorities, and barriers to promoting green urban and commercial H2 mobility as a key growth driver.
- REGPEL will organise an online interregional workshop to explore synergies between PIs and EU/national financial mechanisms.
- WDC & SZREDA will host an online joint assessment session focused on evaluating infrastructure trade-offs and pathways for green H2 roll-out.
- KOSICE will also lead an interregional workshop on financial schemes and public procurement criteria aimed at stimulating the supply and demand market for green H2 mobility in GH2M territories.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to advance the GH2M Project!
