West Region Stakeholders Explore Future-Proof Living Ideas

On March 25, 2025, West Regional Development Agency in Romania hosted an engaging event as part of the FutureECOS project on "๐ˆ๐ง๐ญ๐ž๐ ๐ซ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐…๐ฎ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ž-๐๐ซ๐จ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐‹๐ข๐ฏ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ง๐œ๐ข๐ฉ๐ฅ๐ž๐ฌ ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐’๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ๐š๐ข๐ง๐š๐›๐ฅ๐ž ๐ƒ๐ž๐ฏ๐ž๐ฅ๐จ๐ฉ๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐–๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ ๐‘๐ž๐ ๐ข๐จ๐ง".


The main objectives of the event were:
โ€ขย ย  ย Creating a shared vision for future-proof living
โ€ขย ย  ย Identifying practical implementation methods for the West Region
โ€ขย ย  ย Gathering relevant examples and best practices
โ€ขย ย  ย Integrating these principles into urban development strategies within the region

Participants included representatives from local municipalities, county councils, universities, NGOs, and representatives of citizens associations.ย 
Through the interactive World Cafรฉ workshop allowed participants to share valuable ideas and concrete examples, outlining practical solutions for communities in the region.

They collaboratively explored innovative ideas around three key themes:ย 
โ€ขย ย  ย Smart Living (leveraging technology to enhance daily life),ย 
โ€ขย ย  ย Sustainable Living (minimizing environmental impact and responsibly managing resources),ย 
โ€ขย ย  ย Inclusive Living (creating accessible spaces for all community members).

Additionally, the meeting highlighted European funding opportunities available through the West Regional Program 2021-2027 for investments incorporating these principles.

We thank all participants for their enthusiastic involvement and valuable contributions, as we continue to build smarter, more sustainable, and inclusive communities in the West Region Romania.
