FutureECOS 3rd interregional meeting, Cork, Ireland

From 6-7th of May 2025 partners of the Southern Regional Assembly were proud to host the FutureECOS interregional meeting. Focusing on best practices in Smart Living, New European Bauhaus and Citizen engagement, the event brought together European partners, urban development professionals, as well as local and regional stakeholders. These were the key components in the effort to futureproof living spaces in Europe's growth corridor regions.

A collaborative agenda featured rich thematic sessions that included highlighting national strategies and regional examples of smart urban planning and innovation, showcasing regeneration projects in Cobh and Clonakilty as well as tools and examples for embedding community voices in planning.

The interregional meeting focused on project development and subgroup workshops, delving into the themes of Smart Living, Inclusive Living, and Sustainable Living. The event demonstrated the value of collaboration in addressing shared urban challenges and showcased the Southern Region’s leadership in areas such as digital innovation, climate action, and placemaking.
