Presentation of the FISSH project in an interregional learning event in Hämeenlinna, Finland

Regional Council of South Ostrobothnia presented the FISSH project in an interregional learning event in Hämeenlinna, Finland. Event was organized by Regional Council of Häme 28-29 January 2025 as part of the CIBUS project.

CIBUS - Cutting food loss and waste in Europe, project focuses on reducing food loss and waste across the production and supply chain thanks to increased public capacity to design, implement and monitor integrated, cross-sector and innovation-based policies. There are clear benefits and connection points between FISSH and CIBUS projects and projects can benefit from following each other and continuing exchange also once both projects are in the stage of publishing good practices. While the projects share common objectives, they also have distinct focuses. FISSH project is financed from the topic of Smarter Europe with a strong emphasis on supporting SMEs in their transition toward sustainability. In contrast, CIBUS falls under the Greener Europe initiative and has a more specific focus on waste within the food supply chain.

Participants also had the opportunity to learn from the CITISYSTEM - Supporting cities in sustainable biobased systemic change project. CITISYSTEM project is already in a more advanced stage than FISSH and CIBUS as they started working already in 2023. Project offers already many good practices that may be interest to FISSH partners as well.

The event highlighted the importance of interregional collaboration and learning. By sharing insights these projects can maximize their impact and contribute to a more sustainable Europe.
