CONNECTED is the topic of the month and also the focus of the EMBRACER project, that is widely included in this last edition.
Improving sustainable mobility in rural areas helps to make sure that the communities in these regions stay connected and resilient. Improving connections between rural and urban areas can also help support economic growth, support social equity and achieve climate goals.
One key solution is the Demand-responsive transport (DRT) that offers flexible, cost-efficient mobility solutions, especially in rural areas. Passengers' needs are met by adapting routes, schedules and services. EMBRACER investigates this topic and is actually included in the Policy Brief published by Interreg Europe in July 2024. A further solution is to integrate walking and cycling into mobility and transport policy.
